Can you be addicted to gambling?
Gambling may sound fun, but it is not. Gambling addiction is real and quite dangerous. As harmless as it seems it is included in American Psychiatric Association (APA) Diagnostic and Statistical Manual, fifth edition (DSM-5) as an impulse-control disorder. Gambling is not only about money. It is about emotions as well. It begins at a casual party with no intention of doing it again with small amount, winning or losing, and gradually putting more money at stake. Gambling is a progressive addiction. It is also known as compulsive gambling, pathological gambling or gambling disorder. Anyone with gambling disorder can get out of it with professional help.
