Fibroadenoma is a benign tumor of the breast. It consists of epithelium and stroma. It usually occurs between the age of 15 to 35 years. It is more common in females than in males. Males on anti-androgen therapy may develop fibroadenoma. Fibroadenoma is a hormone-dependent tumor. Hence, it increases in size during pregnancy and decreases in size after menopause. Treatment mainly involves observation. Breast examination and investigations are repeated every 3 to 6 months. In enlarging tumors, surgical excision is indicated. Cryoablation is an alternative to surgery. Reference: https://step2.medbullets.com/gynecology/120421/fibroadenoma Image via: https://step2.medbullets.com/gynecology/120421/fibroadenoma
