Following are some of the contraindications of TPA therapy in stroke: 1. Significant head trauma or prior stroke in the previous 3 months 2. Symptoms suggestive of subarachnoid hemorrhage 3. Arterial puncture at a noncompressible site in previous 7 days 4. History of previous intracranial hemorrhage 5. Intracranial neoplasm, AVM, or an aneurysm 6. Recent intracranial or intraspinal surgery 7. Elevated blood pressure (systolic greater than 185 mmHg or diastolic greater than 110 mmHg) 8. Active internal bleeding 9. Platelet count <100 000/mm^3 10. Current use of anticoagulant with INR greater than 1.7 or PT greater than 15 seconds 11. Blood glucose concentration less than 50 mg/dL (2.7 mmol/L)
