Slapped Cheek Syndrome

Slapped Cheek syndrome gets its name due to characteristic rash on the cheeks. It is also known as fifth disease. The causative agent of slapped cheek syndrome is parvovirus. Usually school-going children are affected by slapped cheek syndrome. The condition is not found in adults. Other symptoms may include fever, myalgias, headache, sore throat, and coryza. The condition resolves on its own. Symptomatic management may be done.
