Vitamin E, also known as tocopherol or alpha-tocopherol, is a fat-soluble vitamin. Vitamin E is naturally obtained from foods therefore its deficiency is quite rare. The prime function of this vitamin is to act as antioxidant to prevent the action of free radicals. The recommended daily intake of Vitamin E is 15 mg.
