Cystic echinocccosis (CE), also called hydatid disease, is caused by infectious larval stage of Echinococcus granulosus, a ~2–7 millimeter long tapeworm found in dogs (definitive host) and sheep, cattle, goats, and pigs (intermediate hosts). Hydatid cyst commonly affects liver and lung. Cardiac Hydatid cyst is an extremely rare disease and usually develops in the left ventricle. Diagnosis should be considered in patients coming from an endemic area and who present with an abnormal heart shadow on chest x-ray (CXR). The cyst tends to grow and thus compress the neighboring myocardium. https://www.instagram.com/p/CT6YDrSMUKD/?utm_medium=copy_link
