How does a neurosurgeon knows if he/she ressected a tumour completely?

Many times they can get a pretty good idea since they do live scans in the room and can usually see the margins of the tumor. But you can’t be fully sure till pathology reports, but most surgeons who are experienced will know with high certainty if the tumor has been fully retracted.
