Strep throat with well-formed tonsillar pus pocket!

Strep throat with well-formed tonsillar pus pocket!

This 17-year-old teenager got infected with a bacterial infection called Streptococcus pharyngitis, causing inflammation and pain in her throat. She was experiencing difficulty swallowing, sore throat with tonsillar exudates filled with pus, and had fever for a couple of days. If untreated, strep throat can cause complications, such as kidney inflammation (post-streptococcal glomerulonephritis) or rheumatic fever. This can further lead to inflammatory disease causing problems in the heart valves, painful joints, and a very typical skin rash known as erythema marginatum. The valvular fibrosis, resulting in stenosis and/or insufficiency can eventually lead to heart failure and may even require repairing or replacing the affected valve. The scarring of the valves is triggered due to antigen cross-reactivity and autoimmune reaction and production of antibodies against the bacteria that also targets the hearts antigens due to similar antigenic subunits. Patients should be treated with antibiotics to prevent complications. 📷•Medicogram•

True. Azithromycin works great. You can also add an antiseptic mouth wash like Rexidine Mouth wash. To take care of the halitosis.
