Treatment of HPIV Parainfluenza does not have a specific anti-viral treatment. Symptomatic relief and supportive treatment is the only management. • Take over-the-counter medicines like acetaminophen and ibuprofen to subside pain and fever. Do not give aspirin to children. • Install room humidifier or sit in bathroom after taking hot bath to inhale the steam. It relieves sore throat and cough. • Drink plenty of warm fluids. • Stay at home and avoid activities. Rest is important.
