Ranula - Frog's Belly Appearance

Ranula refers to mucous extravasation cyst that arises from a sublingual gland. It produces a characteristic translucent swelling that looks like a frog's belly as shown in the above picture. Some cases resolve spontaneously but in many cases surgical excision of the cyst and the affected sublingual gland is done.
