Public Awarness message

It's a common practice to use a nappy rash cream without prescription. Posting a picture of a six month old female who has presented in my opd with history of body swelling for 3 months. Upon inquiring history her mother has been using a steroid cream which was recommended by a relative for nappy rash. She is now suffering from secondary Cushing syndrome because of excess steroids being absorbed from skin. This is not the first case I have encountered. Avoid using out of prescription steroid creams . Do not use steroids at nappy area for more than 7 days. If you are using one for more than 7 days consult your peadiatrician before stopping it.
