Re-VATS Left Upper Lobectomy With Pulmonary Artery Plasty After Induction Chemotherapy

In this day and age, video assisted thoracic surgery (VATS) is considered the gold standard in the field of early stage non-small cell lung cancer treatment. Many studies have demonstrated the reduced post-operative pain, hospital stay and morbidity, while achieving the same oncological results; indeed, it has become a widespread technique in many countries around the world. Nowadays, VATS can be applied also to challenging surgical procedure, such as the plasty of the pulmonary artery, to obtain an oncologically radical resection of the tumor, and it the context of a N2 disease even after a previous surgery on the thorax. In this video tutorial, we demonstrate how to safely carry out this procedure in order to achieve the radical resection of the diseased tissue.
