Hutchinson-Gilford Syndrome

Hutchinson-Gilford Syndrome, aka Progeria, is genetic disorder characterized by accelerated aging. In this condition, the rapid aging process starts within first two years of life. During the first year of life, the child with progeria exhibits no signs and symptoms. After the first year of life, hair loss and slow growth occurs. The life expectancy of child with progeria is approximately 13 years. The most common cause of death is stroke and cardiac events.
