Varicose veins are the dilated tortuous veins formed as a result of damage to veins or faulty valves. Risk factors for varicose veins inclides pregnancy, obesity, deep venous thrombosis, age above 50, long period of standing and family history. Patient presents with symptoms of visibly dilated veins, heaviness, aching pain with discolouration in some cases.
