Barlow’s disease is identified by having evident annular dilatation, bileaflet billowing, hooding and/or prolapse and the existence of spongy, thick leaflets caused by extravagant myxomatous tissue proliferation with or without calcification. Barlow’s valve is a form of degenerative mitral valve (MV) disease that is uniquely identified after clinical investigations and is considered a challenging repair for most of the cardiac surgeons.
