Corrigan pulse refers to alternating forceful pulse followed by sudden collapsing of the pulse. It is a feature of aortic regurgitation. Following pushing of blood into aorta, the aortic valve closes tightly. However, in case of aortic regurgitation, the leaky valve allows backflow of blood into left ventricle, thereby causing sudden collapse of the pulse.
