Chronic Infectious Mononucleosis Chronic infectious mononucleosis is a condition which occurs as a complication of EBV infectious mononucleosis. When the symptoms persist for 6 or more months since the initial clinical presentation then it is termed as chronic infectious mononucleosis. The signs include liver dysfunction, lymphadenopathy, fever, elevated EBV DNA PCR, and skin lesions hydroa vacciniforme. In the USA, 45 out of 100,000 people are infected with Epstein Barr Virus causing infectious mononucleosis.
