Heterophile Antibody Test to Diagnose Epstein Barr Virus Infectious Diseases Heterophile antibody test is the test of choice for diagnosis of EBV infectious mononucleosis. When immune system is exposed to EBV it produces certain proteins. This test detects those proteins and creates a diagnosis.
