Agreed w/ Ddx of Myelomeningocele and Teratoma. We need vertebral XR and MRI including cranium and neck to assess for Chiari II malformation present in 75% cases of Myelomeningocele . Mx: cover lesion w/moist sterile sponge (no latex), broad spectrum Abx, surgical correction. Thanks for sharing the case:)

Thank you janette for ur question .. If u see the tumour is protruded from the lowermost part (tail bone ) which completely covers the anal opening .. and the content seems some hairy inside .. we didnot disect it was refered to neurosurgery
The differential diagnosis for this case has two possibilities: 1)Myelomeningocele which is a type of spina bifida...2) Sacrococcygeal teratoma as you say. A clear MRI should conclude whether the mass contains spinal fluid (spina bifida) or is a tumour(teratoma). Treatment is surgery for both.
