What is the incubation period of Hepatitis A?
Hepatitis A is an infection of liver cells which is acquired by coming in contact with fecal matter of an infected person or infected water. The virus has an incubation of 15-50 days. The disease is self-limiting. The person develops fever, malaise, nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. No treatment is required mostly. Even if needed only symptomatic relief is given for pain, nausea or fever. Good hydration, diet and rest resolves the disease.
