Vernal keratoconjunctivits, also known as seasonal conjunctivitis, is a recurrent, bilateral, inflammation of the conjunctiva of the eye with a seasonal incidence. Basically it's an allergic eye disease and usually occurs in young boys especially during summers. The patient experiences photophobia, itching and a foreign body sensation. Furthermore there's ropy discharge from the eyes with blepharospasm and blurring of vision. Along with this, giant papillae occur on the upper tarsal that give a cobblestone appearance. There are focal white dots on the limbus too which are known as the Tranta's dots. The treatment includes removal of the possible allergens and cold compresses along with topical steroids and antihistamines.
