Optimal radiographic technique is important with suspected abdominal perforation

Optimal radiographic technique is important with suspected abdominal perforation. The first photo taken with supine position resulting blunt appereance in both costophrenic recessus which mimicking pleural efusion and there is no free air appereance in sub diaphragma. The second is in same patient buf after 10 minutes in erect position, resulting in large subdiaphragmatic air (outlining the superior surface of the liver). This erect position is very important because at least can detect 2 cc free air which appear as tiny streak air under the diaphragm.
