An epididymal cyst is synonymous with spermatocele. It refers to painless cyst formation in the epididymis. It presents as a painless mass In the scrotum. Pain, swelling, and erythema may be present occasionally. A transillumination test is done to differentiate the cyst from other solid lesions such as cancer. The epididymal cyst does not affect fertility. It is treated only when associated with pain or discomfort. Spermatocelectomy is done when the epidydimis grows in size.
