Rheumatoid Factor (RF) | Rheumatoid Arthritis

Rheumatoid factor (RF) is an IgM autoantibody against the Fc portion of IgG. It is present in 80% of patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA), which makes this test 80% sensitive. However, it is not specific for RA because it may be positive in normal individuals and in certain other diseases as well.
