What are the classic complications of chronic lymphocytic leukaemia?
CLL or chronic lymphocytic leukemia is the cancer of blood and bone marrow. CLL mostly effects adults. It presents as enlarged/painless lymph nodes, fever, weight loss, fatigue, pain abdomen, weight loss and frequent infections. CLL can involve people more with increasing age (above 70), positive family history and exposure to chemicals like insecticides. Complications of CLL include: frequent infections mostly respiratory tract infections, risk of cancer developing into an aggressive cancer such as B-cell lymphomas (Richter's syndrome), developing other types of cancers (lung cancer, melanoma) or develop into auto-immune diseases.
