Exact causes of Diverticulitis are not found yet. However, following are the most probable causes. - Low-in-fiber diet - Constipation - Naturally weak colon - Bacterial infection The symptoms of Diverticulitis are - Persistent stabbing pain on the lower left side of abdomen and sometimes it occurs on right side - Nausea - Vomiting - Malaise - High fever - Tenderness and pain in the abdomen - Constipation - Bloating - Blood in stools - Rectal bleeding Diagnostic tests for Diverticulitis - Colonoscopy - Ultrasound - Blood test - Urine test - Stool test - CT scan - Liver enzyme test Treatment of Diverticulitis - Antibiotics - Liquid diet - Drainage of abdominal abscess - Surgery
