Staph bacteria are usually present around you or in the objects you use on daily basis e.g. pillow covers, bed linen and towels etc. However, they don’t cause infections unless a suitable environment is provided. They tend to survive stomach acids, extreme temperatures, washing and drying. The risk factors of staph infections are hospitalization, unsanitized objects, raw food, underlying health conditions, invasive catheters and contact sports.
