Types of anesthesia for infraorbital nerve block Amino amides and amino esters are the clinically accepted biochemical groups with active anesthetic agents used as anesthesia for infraorbital nerve block. However, amido amines produce para-aminobenzoic acid after metabolism in liver and undergoing hydrolysis. Thus, amino amides produce allergic reaction than an amino ester. Most common amino amides = Lidocaine and Bupivacaine Most common amino esters = Procaine, Benzocaine and Cocaine
