Free flap surgery

Free flap surgery

A free flap surgery involves the transfer of tissue along with its vascular supply followed by its anastomosis in the recipient artery and vein around the wound. Patients diagnosed with the cancer of head and neck are most commonly treated with this surgical procedure. The success of using a free flap reconstruction procedure is 95-98 percent with maximum restoration of normal physiology. Here you can see the free flap transplantation covering the defect resulting from a tumor removal in the palate. Image by: https://www.instagram.com/p/COdREDcrazN/?igshid=n0dpmiggf0es

I get it but isn't there a way to make the skin hairless via laser treatment As it would be very uncomfortable for the patient

Ikr! But the quality of the skin required will be compromised.
