The most common site of adenocarcinoma of the colon is sigmoid colon. Sigmoid colon, also called pelvic colon, hangs down into the pelvis over the uterus and urinary bladder. this cancer begins in the mucus-secreting cells which produce mucus for the lubrication of colon. It presents with change in bowel movements, constipation and diarrhea. Rectal bleeding, abdominal cramps, weightloss and fatigue are some very prominent symptoms of adenocarcinoma of sigmoid colon.
