Treatment of Acute Urinary Retention - Use of catheter to let the urine out. Treatment of Chronic Urinary Retention • Non-pharmacological treatment - Catheterization - Urethral dilation and stents - Cystoscope - Behavior modification i.e. schedule the time and amount of drinking fluids, practice bladder training exercises and techniques, strengthen the muscles of pelvis - Surgery • Pharmacological treatment - Antibiotics - Drugs to relax urethral sphincter and prostrate e.g. Alfuzocin, Silodosin, Tamsulosin, Terazosin
