World's First Face and Hand Transplant Surgery

A 22-year-old man Joe DiMeo, from New Jersey was severely burned in a horrific car crash. He suffered burns over 80 percent of his body in 2018. Recently he has undergone the world’s first face and double hand transplant. The reconstructive plastic surgery, performed by a team at New York University’s Langone Health, took 23 hours.
