For clinical identification there is an important sign known as rebound tenderness at the Mcburney's point , which located 2/3 the distance from the umbilicus and 1/3 to the right anterior iliac fossa, this sign is done in the following manner, we ask the patient to lie in a supine position, the physician puts his hands at that point and pushes it deeply, and suddenly takes off his hands in case there is appendicitis the patient will feel extremely irritated, However there are so many other signs such as obturator sign, rovsing sign... but Mcburney's is the most important one.
