This intriguing phenomenon occurs when the mast cells of the skin degranulate to release histamine following minor skin trauma such as scratching. An urticaric rash develops along the lines of skin scratching, thus, making writing on the skin really possible! Anti histamines and good control of the underlying disease are the key to management.
