I am a high school student practicing sutures- most of these are horizontal/vertical mattress and simple interrupted. The top right are done with my non-dominant hand. I taught myself these by watching videos and looking and diagrams. Does anyone have any tips?
I would try and talk with a local butcher if you could get your hands on a piece of scrap pork. It would give you a more realistic feel. I went through paramedic school and the difference between manikins and real people for intubation alone is night and day. Manikins are so firm. I actually talked to local butcher for pig traches for all the medics where I work to practice a cric. Just food for thought?
I’m also practicing sutures for fun with videos while studying Surgical Technology, I’d also like some tips.
