What is the difference between...: *Pericardial effusion *Cardiac tamponade
Pericardial effusion with circulatory failure ( hypotension) cardiac tamponade clinically diagnosed with becks triad(muffled heart sound+raised jvp+hypotension)..its a emergency pericardiocentesis should be done..
I believe an effusion is an accumulation due to inflammation but cardiac tamponade is more acute due to blood rapid accumulation.
Isn't cardiac tamponade the effect of pericardial effusion leading to collapse under extreme pressure of blood in the pericardial space?
