Patient is diagnosed with Myelodysplastic Syndrome. How is this condition related to this syndrome. How much fluid is permitted to be tapped out ?

seems like they are tapping the patien's pleural fluid with a chest tube. the pleural effusion can be due to autoimmune events in MDS patients (however it's very rare). also the pleural effusion can be due to an infection, since MDS patients has neutropenia.

Very nice ! Bt since the patient has no h/o of cough , fever and the Effusion was B/L ..which all points towards Transudative type ! Anemia causing Heart Failue leading to Pleural Effusion better fits !
