During menstruation which layer is shed down and why? 1 compect layer 2 spongy layer 3 basal layer Plz explain the reason Answer day is 7 plz try to find best answer

The basal layer never sheds, and neither does the compact layer. The s. Functionalis is the spongy layer that is shed during menstruation

The spongy layer. Spongy layer is the one that gets highly developed so as to hold the impalnted embryo. Menstrual flow occurs under failed fertilization. So no zygote,no implantation, no use of spongy layer. So shedding occurs

Due to glandular epithelium produce secretion which are rich of glycogen that why it's shed down during menstruation
