⚠️A Viewers discretion is advised ⚠️A This is a case of a 45-year-old male patient who suffered a gunshot wound to the face. He was immediately transferred to the operating room where an emergency tracheotomy was performed to ensure the airway. Once the airway was under control, a team of maxillofacial surgeons, led by Dr. Omaira Cohen Rios started with the reconstruction. Thorough exploration of the affected area was performed to assess the damage after which they started the reconstruction. The jaw was reinforced with titanium plates and screws, after that the reconstruction of the palate, tongue and nasal pyramid were performed and everything was cosed in layers. Currently the patient is in stable condition and reconstructive interventions to restore the facial anatomy are planned.
Would love to see post reconstruction photo....looks great so far!
Amazing at what can be done. Do you know if it was self inflicted?
