Multiple Myeloma :- • Monoclonal ( B - Lymphocytes Origin ) • M-Protein ( Also Called Paraprotein - Immunoglobulin Produced ) √ POEMS Syndrome :- ~ Polyneuropathy ~ Organomegaly ~ Endocrinopathy ~ M-Protein ( Usually, Ig G / A Lamda Light Chain ) ~ Skin Changes √ Diagnosis Of Multiple Myeloma :- ( CRABS ) ~ C - Hyper Calcemia ( Serum Calcium > 5.5 mEq/L ) ~ R - Renal Insufficiency ( Creatinine > 2 mg/dL ) ~ A - Anaemia ( Hb < 10 g/dL ) ~ B - Bone Lytic Lesions / Back Pain / Bone Marrow Biopsy ( Best Accurate Test ) / Blood Count ( Complete BC - Rouleaux Formation ) / Bence Jones Protein ( Urine ) ~ S - Skeletal Survey • Best Initial Test - Serum Protein Electrophoresis ( Ig M or Ig A Spike ) Note - Bone Scan is not required as it is a osteoclastic process and Bone Scan shows osteoblastic activity.
