3/4 or 75% OF THE STOMACH REMOVED TO ACHIEVE WEIGHT LOSS BY A SURGICAL PROCEDURE CALLED "LAPROSCOPIC SLEEVE GASTRECTOMY"! This is the portion of the stomach, removed during a Laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy, a type of bariatric (surgical weight loss) procedure. About 75% of the stomach was removed by a surgical resection of a large portion of the stomach along the greater curvature, leaving a narrow gastric "tube" or "sleeve". No intestines are removed or bypassed for the sleeve gastrectomy. The basic principle behind this procedure is that it greatly reduces the size of your stomach and limits the amount of food that can be eaten at a time. So the person will be less likely to feel hungry even after eating less. Being a bariatric procedure, It does not lower the absorption of nutrients as nutrients are absorbed mainly in the small intestine. •What are your thoughts regarding Laproscopic sleeve gastrectomy ? This procedure can't be the end of losing weight. Diet should also have role after performing this procedure.
