πΈThe pic above π is for the flower Colchicum autumnaleπΊ from which the drug Colchicine is extracted. πΈ Colchicine is a member of NSAIDs. πΈ Used for treatment of gouty arthritis. πΈ It is readily absorbed from oral adminstration. πΈ It inhibits leucocytes migration and phagocytosis by inhibiting intracellular microtubules which is important for cells mobility. πΈ It may cause diarrhea as an adverse effect and occasionally nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain.
