50% of population have Helicobacter pylori bacteria.

They can cause gastritis and gastroenteritis. Symptoms include nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, stomach ulcers, black stools (indication of internal bleeding) and can lead to stomach cancer. Many people can have the bacteria and not show symptoms.
