Mandibular reconstruction using a stainless steel reconstruction plate following a traumatic injury to the maxilla and mandible with multiple facial second degree burns. The picture shows a broken lower jaw with a titanium plate with screws over the fractures. A balanced distribution of stress was associated with the plates’ design. This plate modified the mechanical behavior of the fractured region, with less displacement between the fractured segments, holding them in place until complete healing of the bone takes place.
