Michael Magaso: Michael Magaso: Case... A boy child of 16 years of age has attended to your clinic with a c/c of general body weakness for two weeks now!.. He is also complaining of loss of appetite,abdominal discomfort,difficult in breathing and unusual swelling of body pats,no fever.. On past medical history, it has reported that he has the history of admission and blood transfusion due to severe malaria of which its almost a month has passed since admission.. He has no family history of sickle cell disease,hypertension or diabetes mellitus.. On physical examinations it revealed that no palmar or conjuctival palness but mild jaundiced in conjuctiva.. Whole body swelling (anasarca), pulse rate of 74bpm but bp of 148/92mmHg... P/A revealed dullness on percussion and mild distension... Labs investigations reveals ++++ protein, Blood in urine(microscopically) Raised ESR of 102 Also the patient has had a chest x ray which shows mild pleural effusion.. What is proper diagnosis,management and differential diagnoses of above scenario?!!
