The effects of gum disease G. This patient came to clinic with severe gum disease that affected all her teeth and made them so loose that she couldn't even eat or chew anything properly. She was diagnosed with severe generalized periodontitis. This disease significantly affects the bone and tissues that hold teeth together where bacteria causes an inflammation in the gums/bone and leads to a decrease in the supporting structures of the tooth and inevitably the teeth then have to be removed. Treatment involved extraction of all the teeth and placement of 6 implants where implant supported dentures were placed in both jaws. The bottom image is after a 1 year recall and the implant dentures look as good as new and still functional.😷🙏
