SARCOIDOSIS
It is an auto immune disease *It is caused due inflammation of the wbc's The cause for the disease is unknown ⬇️ The macrophages accumulate and form granuloma ⬇️ Most of the the sarcoidosis occurs in lungs GRANULOMA: COLLECTION OF EPITHELIOID (ACTIVATED MACROPHAGES) CELLS,in sarcoidosis there is NON CASEATING GRANULOMA ( no necrosis in centre) But this may even form granuloma in 1️⃣Liver 2️⃣ Kidney 3️⃣Brain 4️⃣ Heart 5️⃣ Peripheral nerve SARCOIDOSIS IS SIMPLY ENLARGEMENT OF LYMPH NODE IN MANY PARTS OF THE BODY SO the patient will have LYMPHADENOPATHY SYMPTOMS *Cough *Abdominal pain *Arthritis *Rash in limbs (ERYTHEMA NODOSUM) *Rash in face (LUPUS PERNIO) *LYMPHADENOPATHY (Enlarged in some places) DIAGNOSIS: HISTOLOGY of the rash area shows granuloma Specifications of granuloma cell is that cell body is not clear and cell wall is indefinite TREATMENT: IMMUNOSUPPRESSIVE DRUGS CARRIED FOR 6 TO 24 MONTHS The granuloma may cause obstruction and affect any nerve function
