Erosion Vs Ulcer

Erosion is a shallow break in the mucosa while ulcer is a full thickness break in the mucosa. The important difference between both of them is that erosions and ulcers can reach muscularis mucosa but only ulcers can penetrate muscularis mucosa, erosions do not penetrate it.
