Seen here is a clinical picture and radiography of the chest showing poland's syndrome most common manifestation which is the absence of pectoralis muscles. Poland syndrome is a congenital defect in which there is hypoplasia or aplasia of pectoralis muscle most commonly major followed by minor, ipsilateral 2nd to 5th ribs, or ipsilateral breast or nipple. Other clinical manifestations include small hand and brachysyndactyly, simian crease of affected extremity. The condition is benign and depending on the degree of involvement of the upper extremity may be asymptomatic. Cosmetic reconstructive surgery may be considered (e.g. breast implant)
