Josh H. was climbing over the fence to retrieve a ball when he slipped and impaled himself. Neighbors held the boy up to take the pressure of the spike off until emergency personal arrived. He was taken to the hospital with the spike still in him. Josh’s mum said: “It took three of us to hold him up so the spike didn’t do any more damage. But Josh was so brave. He didn’t cry once. He was a right little soldier. The doctors said the spike was only two-and-a-half inches away from his heart.” He is now recovering at home after being released.
